Abstract
This report deals with a range of issues relating to current transport and mobility supports. It reflects the experiences of people who encounter difficulties in accessing social, community and health services because of the lack of availability of appropriate
transport. The report is informed by Citizens Information Services (CISs) and projects participating in the Community and Voluntary Advocacy Programme for people with disabilities funded by the Citizens Information Board (CIB). The report compares policies and practice relating to transport and access with the actual experience of people seeking services. A number of case examples are provided to illustrate the issues identified. Some proposals for addressing these issues are included.
