Abstract
Description
This document replaces the previously issued ‘Interim infection prevention and control precautions for possible or confirmed 2019 novel Coronavirus (2019 nCoV), Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS CoV) and Avian Influenza A in healthcare settings’. It provides guidance and information on infection prevention and control (IPC) procedures to manage COVID-19 in the acute healthcare setting. The guidance has been updated to reflect the declaration of a pandemic event, recent decisions of the National Public Health Emergency Team and to address questions that have arisen from colleagues managing COVID-19. Please note that further updates in guidance are likely to be required therefore it is essential that you confirm that you are using the latest version of guidance.
