Abstract
This, the final volume of a Checklist of Irish Insects, checklists a diverse assemblage of groups. Some of these are very familiar while others are only known to a small group of specialists. Three of the orders are no longer considered to be insects but for continuity with the past, they have been included. A short account of each order is given in the relevant section. The checklist contains information on 1684 species. Excluding migrants and importations, 1583 species are validly recorded from Ireland. The layout specifies, when relevant, Order, Suborder, Family, Subfamily, Tribe, Genus, Species and Subspecies. The following orders are included: Collembola; Diplura; Protura; Dermaptera; Dictyoptera; Ephemeroptera; Hemiptera; Mecoptera; Megaloptera; Microryphia; Neuroptera; Odonata; Orthoptera; Phasmatodea; Phthiraptera; Plecoptera; Psocoptera; Siphonaptera; Strepsiptera; Thysanoptera; Trichoptera; Zygentoma
