Abstract
Description
The National Catalogue of Agricultural Plant Varieties is published yearly. This current publication provides information on the varieties registered on the catalogue on 1st January 2019 and the varieties deleted from the catalogue during 2018. It is published to comply with the provisions of Directive 2002/53/EC on the Common Catalogue of varieties of agricultural plant species which are implemented in Ireland by European Communities (National Catalogue of Agricultural Plant Varieties) Regulations, 2002 - S.I. No. 525 of 2002 - made under the European Communities Act, 1972.
The Catalogue includes conservation varieties of agricultural plant species in accordance with certain derogations to the relevant EU Marketing Directives provided for by Commission Directive 2008/62/EC, which is implemented in Ireland by European Communities (Marketing of Seeds) Regulations 2009 – S.I. No. 431 of 2009.
