Abstract
This book is intended to help members of the public, health and agricultural inspectors and other non-entomologists to identify and eradicate most pest insects found indoors. It will be of particular interest to those employed in the food industry. Information is given on previous Irish records and life-histories. Some harmless insects which are frequently found in houses are included. The illustrations of the various species are by Sean Milne. There are sections on identifying insects, the smaller insect orders, true bugs (Hemiptera), beetles (Coleoptera), flies (Diptera), butterflies & moths (Lepidoptera) and ants, bees & wasps (Hymenoptera), control of indoor insect pests, insects and human health, design and construction. There is a glossary of technical terms along with Irish names for some pest insects and a comprehensive list of references.
